Plan to Succeed, continued: Attitude

From my Blog Ken's Korner Published on December 18, 2018

One of the earliest writings on Attitudes is by the Stoic Philosopher, Epictetus (55-135 C.E.) Epictetus states on his treatise, WHAT IS IN OUR POWER, “… Our opinions are up to us, and our impulses, desires, aversions- in short, whatever is our own doing.”

In psychology, an attitude refers to a set of emotions, beliefs, and behaviors. Attitude is a learned tendency to evaluate things in a certain way. While attitudes are enduring, they can also change.

In business, attitude is deemed more important than aptitude. Attitude is the control center of your business. In controlling our attitudes we all must realize we have a choice. We have the power to control our inner dialogues. We can be self-encouraging and Self-Motivating, or we can choose an attitude of Self-Defeat. Another great philosopher Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.” Paul states Jesus attitude was one of: selflessness, humility, and service

To maintain a positive attitude do the following, 1. Focus on the positive, 2. Be aware of your thoughts, 3. Be careful who you associate with, 4. Keep your business goals at the forefront of your mind, 5. Smile a lot, 6. Be aware of your posture, 7. Get plenty of rest and sleep. 8. Count your blessings daily! “External thinks are not the problem. It’s your assessment of them. Which you can erase right now.” – Marcus Aurelius From my weekly Blog: 'Ken's Korner' Ken Rutherford, Broker, Coldwell Banker Select
